With two books with an agent and plugging along on the third novel, I feel like I’ve been climbing a mountain and have reached an outcrop that overlooks a crystal clear pond. (Thanks for the photo, Betsy–stole from daughter’s Facebook)
I’ve done a lot of climbing and am so ready to splash around in the refreshing waters of success.
Daughter Betsy, above, is enjoying a little down time this summer after work and before getting ready for her last semester of college.
Son Nick is at the University of Louisiana, beginning football camp.
Hubby, Bishop Leo Michael, as usual, is working hard for the Kingdom of God.
We’re all pushing toward our goals…some big, some small.
But, I think son Jake, a rookie in NFL camp with the Houston Texans #89 (on the left with the black cap), must feel a lot like I feel right now…
…we’ve worked hard and have reached some wonderful heights, but we’re ready to bathe in the waters of success. He’s hoping to make the final cut on the team. I’m hoping for a publishing contract.
So for now, we keep working and pushing ahead toward our goals.
So, what does it take to successfully reach goals? Maybe, never giving up. There’s lots of good advice out there. Each morning, I look for inspiring quotes to text to my kids, especially the boys who are really challenged in football camp.
Here’s a few success quotes:
And considering success and pruning….check out Kristen Lamb’s blog today. She inspired me to write this post…Have a wonderful time on your path to success, whatever your goals may be.
Some great success quotes there. I have always been a Churchill fan and he does have one of the great ones in that group. Congratulations on your success!
Thanks for a very uplifting post! I kind of needed your thoughts on this today. I think we all work, and work, and work, and it’s so hard to see the success until we’re on top of it. Those small day-to-day things really add up, whether we see the fruits of them or not!
Katie, it’s true. And what is success, really? It’s something different to everyone. If I can work and accomplish some small goals each day, that’s success. It’s all about continuing to plugging along and asking God to guide and bless us as we keep moving. And maybe remember to thank God for the blessings too. Thanks for stopping by!
Inspiration is the ignition, I believe. And when you give you kids – or my kids, or the children who play on my teams – inspiration, it can ignite them to move and also to understand the concept that success doesn’t mean you’ve never failed; it just means you’ve never given up.
So glad I found this blog!
Very true. My oldest son is one of two professional football players with Type one diabetes. Not even his diagnosis made him want to give up. Sports inspires and makes kids stronger mentally and physically.
Holly – A great blog full of positive energy. Using the upward bound of the members of your own family made it even better read. Have a great week.
Thanks Sheri!
I’m doing it the Winston Churchill way 🙂 Many thanks for the follow, Holly. Hope all that effort pays off.
Hey Jo, sounds great!!!
