A new book is born! And it’s a great one! Naty Matos’ THE ROAD HOME is launched TODAY! Yay! CONGRATULATIONS Naty!

That’s five exclamation points in a row. Keep reading, then grab Naty’s book and you’ll understand my enthusiasm. Go Naty! I’m giving my blog over to Naty who shares about the conception and birth of THE ROAD HOME!

Naty: Writing a novel was my greatest desire for the longest time. Since I was a teenager I felt that the best way I could express myself was by writing. I was so afraid of failure that while I was in college I stopped writing altogether.

Three years ago, I decided to join NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and give myself an opportunity to try to fulfill that dream. I was going through a very stressful time in my life. Nothing was going right. My finances were crazy, my relationships were unstable, and I escaped into the world of fiction to get through it all.

This is how I met Desiree, my main character. She is a woman struggling in life, who goes through a very rough time. She didn’t feel hope. She kept looking for love in all the wrong places and dealing with life tragedies the best way she could.

She had very little support in life and that’s where we meet Aimee, her college roommate. These two women couldn’t be more different, but became the best of friends. Aimee supports and guides Desiree through her hard times and shows her the way to a better life.

Desiree finally finds love, the right love. She can’t wait to be with him in spite of what it could mean to the ones around her. But he has a condition for their reunion. The question is, Will Desiree be able to be with her lover?

Read “The Road Home” to follow Desiree through her journey and find out how things will end for her.
