Yes, I have other children beside Jake and just because he is in the limelight now, I didn’t want anyone to think I only had one child or that I favored one child.
Betsy (beautiful only daughter and middle child) is fiercely independent and fun-loving. She’s a college student who plans to study abroad in London next semester. I am as proud of her as I am of Jake for all of her endeavors. I’ve always been incredibly happy that I can call Betsy-Boo my daughter. She’s got a big heart full of love and is the kind of person you can always count on.
Nick, the youngest at 17, has a college scholarship offer to play football for Arkansas State (I mentioned this in an earlier blog post). We are so proud of him. I don’t doubt he’ll get more offers. He’s an excellent football player too and his dedication and hard work inspires me. This boy is also going to go far in life. Wait and see. He’s a sweet, kind-hearted, conscientious child who also has a heart for God.
I’m also blessed with a wonderful husband, my ardent supporter and a true man of God. I didn’t intend this blog to be a bragging post about my awesome family, but I’d posted and tweeted so much about Jake’s recent successes getting into the NFL (Geaux Saints!) that I wanted to share that I love my kids equally and am equally proud of all three.
Now, back to work. I’m busy on final edits and synopsis for Crooked Lines so my agent can launch it to publishers. Therefore, I’m taking a few days break from blogging. I’m going to get back to my regular schedule with book reviews too, probably next week. This is just my quick blog post to acknowledge ALL of the blessings God has given me.
You have a lovely family, Holly. I’m so happy to hear that there are so many wonderful things happening in your life at once. God is good!
Thanks Sybil God is good!
Great family. I know you’re proud of each of them!
Funny how we moms always try to “even out” our love – as if anything so absolute could be uneven. My friend has three kids too and they all think she has a favorite – but each of them think it’s someone else. She says that means she’s doing the right thing as a mother.
Why do you think I was prompted to write this post. Lol! It’s true, all I said about my kids, but sometimes I have to make sure everyone understands I love them in equal measure.
This is very nice, Holly. Congrats on your son’s success!
Thanks Lada. I’m reading your book now. It’s awesome!!! A good review will follow!!
Thank you so much, Holly! I am really happy you are enjoying Gold Train!
Are you on Goodreads? Would love to connect with you there 🙂
You have a really awesome looking family. Congratulations on all of their successes and God’s Favor upon you! I pray His continued blessings.
Thanks you Candy.
What a great way to finish this round of blogs, Holly. Of course you love all your family and I’m glad to see them featured here.
Thanks Francene, I was trying to avoid any jealousy issues…lol…but I do mean it anyway…like you can ever love one more than the others,
Hi Holly, I met you through A-Z and am been trying to revisit some of my new friends from there this morning. Your family is awesome! Hey, we have been doing some of this football stuff with our grandson, Tyler Matthews (McPherson, Kansas) who is now playing for TCU. Tyler was one of the QB for the West in the Army All-American Game this year.
I know how hard that the boys and all of you have worked to support their dreams and to help them get to where they are today. You are so blessed to have a beautiful and wonderful daughter too!
Kathy M.
Hi Kathy, thanks! Football keeps us busy!! Nice to meet you. THanks for stopping by here.
What a beautiful family you have, Holly. The best part of it all is the fact that you all love Jesus Which means you’ll be together in the kingdom for all eternity.
I’m the middle of seven children. We don’t know if our Dad is in Heaven now, but we know that Mom and all seven of us will be. She’s the spiritual leader in the family. I don’t have any children so I like to brag about my Mom!
Bragging about your mom is a good thing! And God bless her for being a spiritual leader in your family.
Holly, God has blessed you with a beautiful family!
Thanks Glenda. They are sweet kids too. God really has blessed me.
