Good Friday at the Mill Creek Park Fountain at Country Club Plaza in Kansas City.
O Lord, support us all the day long of this troublous life until the shadows lengthen and evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then of Thy great mercy grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Do you live in KC? I grew up in Greenwood and went to school in Lee’s Summit. Great memories from the Plaza!
Yes, I’m in KC. I really like the city.
I’ve lived in Virginia for 25 years, but I still have a lot of relatives in Missouri. KC, St. Louis, Carthage, and Springfield. I love the pics from your blog. They take me back!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed them. Let me know if you ever get back to KC
How wonderful to participate in a service outdoors. Thanks for sharing the pictures. By the way, I love your new photo — top left.
Really loved seeing your pictures. Thanks for sharing this important part of your life.
A lovely prayer, Holly. I, too, am a Kansas girl.
Looks like a lovely spot for a Good Friday service–and the service itself looks so much friendlier than the ones I’m familiar with 🙂 If you’re at all familiar with Mexican Holy Week rituals, you know what I mean–there’s actual *blood* involved. Thanks for sharing this slice of life in Kansas!
