Because of my Commitment to my agent to Cut twenty thousand words from my novel, Crooked Lines, today’s blog post will be short, but not before I post something relevant to my Person, Place, and Blog theme:
Cool Person: Jesus Christ. He’s the coolest, for all He did for us.
Cool Place: St. Alban’s Cathedral, St. Alban’s, England I visited with my dear friend and blogger Francene Stanley and her sweet husband, Brian.

Twenty thousand words? Wow! You can do it, though–let us know how it goes!
Thanks Heidi, I will!
I know your pain! I just finished cutting 40,000 (count ’em) thousand words from my wip. And it actually made sense. lol Great post!
Thanks. Yes, it’s a pain, but it’s got to be done!
Thanks Holley for the mention of “Stripping of the Cross” on your blog today!
Have a blessed Holy Week!
You too!
Really like this C post! Commitment is a great word.

Holly,
Christ is cool, comforting, confirming, calling, carrying…love to boast about our Jesus!
Great post for the letter C. Best wishes on cutting 20,000 words from your novel.

PUTTING WORDS DOWN ON PAPER
That’s a tough one. I usually end up -adding- that amount during edits. Best of luck with it.
Hi, Holly. You get to cutting. Wow, 20,000 words. But it will probably all make sense when you get it done. Thanks for mentioning my blog in yesterday’s post. You are too kind.
Thank you for this lovely post. What a pleasure to find your blog. Just hopping by on A-Z. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Ophelia. I’ll check out your blog.
Yep, cutting and tightening usually makes a huge difference in our work. Best wishes with your editing!
That’s a lot of words, hopefully there are entire sections you can remove and save to work into your next novel.
I know you’ll do it well!
Thanks Cindy. I think I can do it. I have one character that needs to go. And I feel quite confident. My plan is to finish in a week, but I’m an overachiever.
I cut a similar number of words from a first draft, though it took nearly 8 weeks. I wish you well with the red pen. Have you read Elizabeth Lyon’s MANUSCRIPT MAKE-OVER? Her guidelines are thoughtful and practical. May your cuts go quickly and yet your MS remain cohesive.
How wonderful to see St Alban’s Cathedral again. So beautiful and … cool.
I love the old world cathedrals in Europe. They are beautiful!
Cara
We love visiting them. Thanks for stopping by my blog Cara. Have a great day!
Very cool, Holly! 😉
My internet has been down for a while, but I’d really like to chat with you very soon.
Love,
Lada
P.S. I love visiting cathedrals and places of worship during my travels. Maybe, I’ll do some COOL posts on that soon – you are my inspiration 😉
Thanks Lada, I’m having to postpone book reviews, My agent wants 20K words cut from my novel. Once I finish that I’ll get back to your book. Thanks for stopping by and glad you enjoyed the posts.
